John Fox and Sue Gill founded Welfare State International, the celebratory arts company in 1968. Since 1982 WSI have produced and organised the Ulverston Lantern festival. 2005 was their final year of involvement. The event, however, continues and is now produced by Lanternhouse International. Here are a few of the images I’ve made over the past 12 years or so.
